For the Love of Oranges...

As you can probably tell by my header, I kind of like oranges. I actually love oranges. I think they are one of God's most perfect gifts to mankind. All that deliciousness wrapped up in my favorite color. In the past few months, I've made two new discoveries in the orange world that I feel need to be shared. My husband is totally unimpressed with my ability to wax poetic about oranges, and I've already raved to him. So now, my friends, you are my captive audience. Well, not really captive, since you can move about the internet of your own freewill. Anyway, on to my discoveries.

The first one, I found at Walmart - Le Petit Marseillas Orange Blossom Extra Gentle Shower Creme. It is awesome. Totally, undeniably awesome! It's a trip down memory lane, to a time when it seemed like every gift shop in Florida smelled like orange blossoms. On visits to Silver Springs, Cypress Gardens, all those old Florida places that are no more, I'd buy orange blossom scented sachets that looked like peach pits. Anyone else remember those? Well, this shower creme is all that in a bottle! A circa 70's/80's Florida girl nirvana!

The second, I found at the Seven Seas Food Festival at Sea World. A fried orange. Yes, you heard that right. Fried. Orange. A fried kataifi orange to be exact. It's an orange wrapped in kataifi, which is shredded phyllo dough, baked, and drizzled with honey. The first bite, I wasn't sure what to think. It wasn't as sweet as I'd expect, but I think that's why I loved it so much after the first bite or two. By the time we were headed out of the park, I had to swoop back by the Florida Market kiosk and grab another one. The picture doesn't do it justice. Husband has a picture on his cell phone of me eating one, and looking way too happy stuffing my face. I won't be sharing it.  But I may have to make a day trip before the festival ends to try it again. Just to make sure it was as delicious as I thought it was.

Speaking of my orange tree-lined memory lane, here's another little gem...
